Ernie and Gail Mills helped serve Christmas brunch to women, children, and intact families staying at the Good Samaritan Inn of the Durham Rescue Mission at the Women and Children’s Campus.

In an effort to let the women and children know they are loved and an important part of the “Mission Family”, it is tradition that the staff join the women and children for a meal each year to celebrate Christmas.

Gifts, provided by Crosspointe Church of Cary, were distributed to the women and children after the Christmas Eve Brunch. Also, CT Tomlin, the Spivey family and the Walker family handed out $200 Wal-Mart gift cards!

Last year the Spivey’s son Noah helped distribute gift cards. Though Noah had cancer, his kindness to come and help our ladies was a great blessing and touched all our hearts deeply. He has since passed on to be with the Lord.  We have dedicated our Christmas brunch and those held in the future in his memory.

Another special friend of the Mission, Megan Brinkman, made her annual visit with a financial contribution she raised through gifts from her friends, families, and more!  She’s been hosting an annual fundraiser each year since she was six years old, and this year she’s thirteen!

On behalf of the residents, the Mills’ wish to thank the Durham Rescue Mission Volunteers, Donors, and Friends for a wonderful year!  For everyone at Crosspointe who purchased gifts for the residents, thank you for your generosity during the holidays!
