This year at the Durham Rescue Mission, we will be hosting our 50th Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner feeding the homeless, hungry, and needy men, women, and children of the Triangle. This event is held outdoors at the Mission campus located at 1201 East Main Street. Doors open at 11:00 AM and the event starts at 12:00PM
We’re in need of volunteers, turkeys, and new bicycles for this event. If you can volunteer or provide a turkey, please call our office at (919) 688-9641, 5025.
Activities for the day are all free to those attendance!! You will receive a free hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and hot dogs. PLUS, a bag of groceries will be given to every family to take home and cook for another meal. In addition, there will be a variety of carnival games with prizes for the children as well as free clothing items given away.
A special ticket drawing will be held for a 65” SMART TV, Nintendo Switch, 3 Chrome Book’s, and assorted new bicycle’s for girls and boys.
This event is a time for the community to come together to provide a hot meal for those who are less fortunate. We will need volunteers to give of their time, to ensure the neediest in our community are not forgotten on this special day. This event has brought together the “have’s” and the “have not’s” for a great meal and time of fellowship. Times are tough, but we all still have much to be thankful for!
