Mike Shilling of South Durham will be sponsoring the Durham Rescue Mission through his charitable giving firm “RACE” (Runners Adopting Charities Endure). Mike has committed to donating $2.05 for every mile he runs for the Durham Rescue Mission. In the past, Mike has set up similar sponsorships for other charities. Last year he ran a total of 1500 miles. He states his reasons for giving by running in the following quote:
As I run the streets of Durham on hot, freezing cold, or rainy days, I want to make each step meaningful for those who are living in those conditions but have a place like the Durham Rescue Mission to go to for shelter, food, health and Christian faith.
Mike has decided to dedicate his earnings to our Operation Daily Bread Club. To learn more about our donation program or how you can sponsor a day at the Mission visit our Operation Daily Bread section.
