Durham, NC – Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Noon, the Durham Rescue Mission will be holding a drive-thru for a free, frozen turkey give-away that is open to the public primarily for families in need. These families will be able to enjoy a full Christmas meal as each meal kit, while supplies last, will contain one (1) turkey, one (1) bag of stuffing, two (2) cans of corn, and two (2) cans of green beans.
This drive-thru event is being made possible by Prestage Foods who generously donated the turkeys that will be distributed in the meal kits.
Prestage Farms Communications Director Deborah Johnson says, “In this challenging year we know that many people need some extra help, especially now at the holidays. Prestage Foods is pleased to support the Durham Rescue Mission in offering a helping hand by providing turkeys for their special Christmas Meal Kit project. Prestage is a family-owned business based here in North Carolina and being able to provide a healthy protein source to other North Carolina families at Christmastime is one way for us to give back.”
Select representatives from Prestage Foods will be on hand to help distribute the turkeys along with volunteers from Elevation Church.
Meal kits are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve, one-per-car basis. The event will continue until all meal kits are distributed or at 1:30 PM, whichever comes first.
The Durham Rescue Mission again thanks Prestage Foods for their generous donation in helping feed those in need in our community.
