Read the graduates’ testimonies

Tuesday, September 23, at 1201 East Main St, at 10:00 am, 15 men and women received certificates of completion from the Durham Rescue Mission’s one-year recovery program.

This milestone is the result of the hard work and dedication of each and every graduate. Many of them have never finished anything in their lives. We are excited to share that they have achieved this milestone on the journey to a better life for them and their loved ones.

These men and women were in crisis when they came to the Mission and they have courageously fought against addictions, homelessness, abusive relationships, and other bad choices in their past. Today, they have hope and a bright future and we want to share their time in the limelight with their families, friends, and our supportive community.

Our guest speaker was Rev. Greg Allison, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC.

Dr. Ernie Mills said, “These graduates are our joy and crown. This day represents a tremendous accomplishment in their lives. Today, we will encourage them to continue in the things they have learned.”
